Had brunch there recently and the food was very disappointing. The “home fries” were what appeared to be over seasoned canned potatoes, the omelet was okay with some salt, pepper, and ketchup but the hashbrowns in it could have been crisped before being added. I will say I thought the biscuit was tasty. They forgot a side of bacon for my sisters meal and the bacon that was served with my kids’ breakfast was absolutely charred. Also ordered a truffle brownie that appeared to have been old and stale. Kids wouldn’t even eat it! The food took a long time to come out even though there were only three tables total in the restaurant. Don’t think I will be returning, at least not for the breakfast food. Waitress was very nice though!
I had a good first visit experience. We had breakfast. The server was very nice; she changed the music to smooth jazz when we requested a music change from a loud song with profanity. We were the only diners there during our early morning visit. My dining partner ordered the veggie breakfast meal but the veggies weren't grilled. They were cooked to soft texture. Her grits were watery and seemed the instant kind. I enjoyed my corned beef hash, potatoes, eggs. The accompanying pancake though was undercooked. I'd like to try this place again for the BBQ. I may return during Juneteenth.
The pulled pork sandwich isn’t, it’s chopped and a bit watery with only a hint of grilled smoker flavor. Kind of like the premade BBQ you get in the plastic containers at Food Lion. The bun, however, was very good and fresh. The fries are wrinkle cut and were OK, however, I ordered them extra crispy and they came out lukewarm and wimpy. The katsup was in a basket on the table and was in the little packet you’d get at Wendy’s. Had to make room on my plate for the empty foil packets. You can taste the quality difference, but I’m sure it’s cheaper.
Stopped in here for dinner. I seated myself, as the sign stated. Had a lady yell at me from across the room that she'd be with me in a bit. A little while later a different lady came and asked what I would be drinking and let me know that she wasn't my waitress that she would be with me in a bit. Several minutes later minutes later my waitress (lady from across the room) came to take my order. About 30 minutes later my waitress came to tell me they were out of mac and cheese, I selected a different side. Almost 5-10 minutes later I receive my food. Nothing on my plate was remotely hot. The meat (pork bbq and chop chicken) was cold in some bites warm in others. The cabbage and cornbread were good. Chicken had the potential to be good if it were hot. BBQ was dry. Waitress never came back by except to bring my bill. There were only two other tables of customers at the time. This ended up messing up my stomach. Don't foresee myself going back.
Best Cornbread I’ve ever had in my life! Our waitress (didn’t get her name) was SO sweet & personal. She made great recommendations and you could tell she was genuinely happy to serve us and had pride in the food. 10/10 customer service We tried the collard greens, Mac & cheese, potato salad, cornbread, cabbage, baked beans, coleslaw, brisket, jerk bbq, & smoked sausage. Everything had TONS of flavor and portions were accurate to price. What they advertised is what they gave. So nice to find a BBQ spot that soared over mediocre. Nice Bar set up, friendly cozy area. Spoke with the owner (Tara) and she seemed so involved, helpful, and connected with her staff. It was overall a refreshing and tasteful experience. Can’t wait to see what this place throws at me next, because I’m eating whatever they are serving. 10/10 would recommend.
$27 plate... portion to small! Brisket not cooked slow and low because the fat was terrible. Menu says pulled pork, but definitely minced to hide something. Sausage was OK. Mac and Cheese was super greasy and baked beans tasted like chili beans. Also Menu says comes with cornbread but was later advised that they were out! Out of cornbread (takes 20 min to make) dang. Very disappointed in this stop.
New place. Great name. First off, the owner is very open, friendly, nice ... can't say enough about her. The servers Kristy and Miranda were very nice and working hard. The other server was not pleasant and should be replaced. The bacon bombs were wonderful, and I had loaded curly/spiral potatoes with pulled pork. Very good. My husband had the three meat plate. The sausage was good, the pork was good but the chicken had an overly charcoal taste. Overall I would go back.
We came to their grand opening on Saturday and had an awesome time. They had a live band playing the blues, and everyone was super welcoming. For an appetizer, we picked the bacon bombs and they were BOMB. What really shined was the rib tips for me. Would highly suggest those for anyone who can't decide what to get. Great job to the back of the house and the front of the house. Y'all rocked! 🖤
